About Nichola

Nichola Ali is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She received her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Nichola completed an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (RN) in 2014 from Rutgers University prior to becoming a PMHNP. Nichola received her first Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) in 2010 from Stony Brook University before diving into nursing. Nichola has experience working as a psychiatric Registered Nurse at Northwell Health South Oaks Hospital in an inpatient setting for over 7 years where she worked with ages 5 to 80 years old on all different units including the child and adolescent units, and the adult mood disorder units. Nichola has been working as a telepsychiatry Nurse Practitioner most recently in her career. Nichola worked as a licensed Social Worker with the foster care population before she became a psychiatric Registered Nurse where she took on the role of Case Manager for foster care children that needed assistance and support. Throughout her career, she has treated multiple diagnoses including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and dual diagnoses. Nichola strives to provide the best mental health treatment to her patients by being empathetic, compassionate, and kind and by utilizing her vast experience and knowledge of Psychiatry. She firmly believes that psychopharmacology combined with psychotherapy can help individuals achieve a great sense of overall well-being in their lives. Nichola is also an advocate for LGBT rights and the ethical treatment of animals. She enjoys volunteering at the local animal rescue a few times per month and taking long walks in the wilderness to remain balanced, grounded, and centered. Nichola believes in self-care to ensure her patients are ultimately always well taken care of.

About Angeli

Angeli Pemberton is a licensed mental health coun-selor. Angeli’s approach is warm, compassionate, andpatient-centered. This DBT-informed therapist helpspatients become more empowered by teachingthem skills to manage their emotions and increasemindfulness. Angeli works especially well with indi-viduals who may not have felt safe, loved, or validatedin their relationships in the past. Her background intreating patients provides her with a unique frame-work that helps her guide individuals in exploringtheir issues’ root causes.

Angeli treats patients ages 18-55. She specializes intreating depression, anxiety, self-esteem challenges,relationship issues, and stress related to life transi-tions (career changes, parenting challenges, divorce,etc.). Angeli uses a psychodynamic approach to helppatients explore their past and gain self-awarenesswhen needed. She also uses solution-focused,strengths-based, and cognitive-behavioral therapyapproaches to alleviate symptoms. In her spare time,Angeli loves to write and play music. She grew up inTrinidad and Tobago.
