About Candice

Candice Aparicio is a licensed clinical social worker based in New York City. As a Mexican-American woman coming from a working-class family, Candice has experienced firsthand the difficulties and struggles stemming from classism, racism, colorism, and misogyny. These experiences make her uniquely equipped to support patients who may be going through similar struggles. Through her professional and personal experience, she finds it crucial to facilitate the therapeutic process through a decolonizing lens. Candice seeks to build strong therapeutic alliances with her patients, aiding them in healing through connection. She understands that ruptures that occur in a relationship can be incredibly painful, and in the same token, she believes there is much power that can be accessed when the rupture is repaired. Upon completion of her MSSW degree, Candice completed a two-year integrated trauma studies program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. Through her professional experience, Candice has become a dedicated advocate in providing psychotherapy to individuals who have been impacted by trauma, in hopes to reinforce her belief that everyone can have access to healing and can break the cycle. Her eclectic approach includes internal family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and EMDR to provide collaborative care to her patients. Candice works with patients ages 18-65 treating depression, anxiety, grief, peer relationships, intimate relationship issues, self-esteem problems, stress, relational trauma, C-PTSD, immigration related concerns, chronic pain management, LGBTQIA+ related issues, and mood disorders. Outside of work, Candice loves spending time with her pup, trying new coffee shops, hiking, traveling to new countries, and watching romantic-comedies.
